Family Album (meredithkids.org) is a small, private website that one family uses to share photos, videos, and stories with each other. It is not open to the public and is not a commercial service.

What the site and its tools do

Photos and stories are posted by a small number of family members who manage the site. Family members view them by entering a shared family password. A private family tool, run by the site owner, uploads videos that the owner sends to it to the owner's own YouTube channel. Those videos are set to "unlisted," so they can be seen only by people who have the link, and the link is shared only inside the family site.

Information we handle

The site stores the photos, captions, tags, and dates that family members post. The site uses a session cookie so you stay logged in while you browse. We do not run advertising or tracking, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

Google and YouTube access

The upload tool asks for permission to upload videos to the site owner's own YouTube channel. It uses that permission only to upload the videos the owner sends it. It does not read, collect, or store anyone else's Google or YouTube data. The login tokens that give the tool this permission are stored only on the site owner's own computer and are not shared with anyone.

Use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with anyone outside the family. Videos hosted on YouTube are subject to YouTube's own terms and privacy policy.

Removing content

If you appear in something posted here and would like it removed, contact the site owner and it will be taken down.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above will be updated.
